The committee of LLYC are pleased to confirm that the Lutine Bell Race is
scheduled to take place this September on the weekend of the 2nd-4th.
This is the annual race which takes place from The Solent to Cherbourg in France
for both Members on their own boats, Lutine and now we are pleased to announce
the ability to Charter yachts with Britannia Events who are running the Lutine
Bell in 2005 to complement the Lutine Lineslip which they also run on behalf
of LLYC.
The event is focused around an overnight race on the Friday from the start
line off Gilkicker to the entrance of Cherbourg, normally some time on Saturday
Morning.
The focus of the weekend then turns from sailing to relaxing and socialising.
Saturday day is free to explore Cherbourg and take in the atmosphere. In the
evening we will be hosting a Cocktail party on Lutine for all to come along
and chat the evening away. The formality of the weekend finishes on Saturday
night with people free to either carry on exploring France on the Sunday or
head back to British Waters.
The aim is to make this weekend event a fun for all race across to France,
which are far as we can establish, may be the only opportunity for Corporate
entries to race across the Channel. Something different to round the cans in
The Solent!
As mentioned, we are pleased to confirm that this event is being run in association
with Britannia Events who are administering the event and also offering either
high performance yachts on a skippered charter basis or bare boat Bavaria’s
for those who wish to make it there under their own leadership.
For further information and prices, please go to the Britannia website http://www.britanniaevents.co.uk/documents/events_calendar/lutine_bell.asp or call Simon Boulding on 02380 458 900.
Look forward to seeing you on the startline.
