  707 Race Training

Club crews enjoyed near  perfect conditions in the Solent for the first keel boat race training day. Two boats skippered by Peter Young and Marcelle Von Wendland spent the day running through crew drills and boat speed practice before engaging in some practice match races.

707's are responsive 23 ft five man one design sports boats that are ideal for developing racing and keel boat handling skills. In the right conditions they are rumoured to have achieved close to 20 knots downwind!

The Club is considering the possibility of campaigning a 707 in the Hamble Spring Series. Anyone interested in helming, crewing, or even owning a 707, who  would like to take part   - please contact Peter Young.
