LLYC are pleased to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s Swan Europeans that will be held at Cowes, the Isle of Wight, from Saturday 11th July – Friday 17th July.

The cost for this event, which includes Lutine’s charter for the 7 days, berthing and entry fees is £600 per person.  Please note that this does not include food and any clothing that you should wish to purchase!

This is the 14th time that the event will be held.  The original aims of this regatta are to provide enjoyable and competitive racing for all Swan yachts, whatever the age or vintage, as well as an entertaining social programme onshore.

Saturday and Sunday are for registration, inspection and skippers briefing.  Then practice!  There is an opening reception on the Sunday evening.

Each day, except Thursday, there will be 2 races, each of between 10-15 miles around the Solent.  There will only be one race on the Thursday as there is a crew party on Wednesday night – could get messy!

Yachts will be split into 3 classes:  Classic class, where the rating is up to 1.135, Modern class, where the rating is between 1.136 and 1.220 and maxi class of 1.221 and above.  There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class – all awarded at the final prize giving on the Friday.

So if you fancy some exciting Solent racing in July sunshine (fingers crossed),  then please let me know as soon as possible.  Nautor are limiting the entries to 70, so we need to get in quickly.  We are offering 14 berths on Lutine to Club members only.  It would be preferable that  crew are available for the whole week.  However, if, due to other commitments, individuals are unable to make it, there may be day spaces available at a cost of £100.

If you would like to compete, then please let me know by January 30th at the latest.  To express your intent, I will be requiring a small deposit of £100, which will be accepted as part payment.

If you have any further questions then please let me know

I look forward to hearing from you
