We hope everyone has been well fed and watered over the past
month: Now’s time to think about working it off!!!
Last year was a great success with all the events that members took
part in and the Committee would like to thank everyone for their
commitment and support over the last 12 months. As per usual
though, we still need assistance in running the club.
As we are now in 2009 we have some exciting events for the coming year.
As every competitive sailor knows, this year is the 30th anniversary of
the 1979 tragic Fastnet year and it is a great pleasure to announce
that Lutine will be taking part again.
Lutine while not only entering the famous Fastnet race, will also be
very busy with other great events, such as Cowes week, possibly the
Swan European Championships, countless other regattas and also the club
races.
There are also the club weekends where skills can be honed, meet other
members and much fun had by all. And don’t forget,
if you’re looking for a great, low cost team building
experience or to get closer to your clients away from the City
environment, Lutine can be chartered for a very recession friendly
price!
Lutine is currently on the hard being prepared for the coming season
and so with hard work from Simon Vayro, our returning skipper she is
looking great. So it with be fantastic to see her back in the water, we
hope in early March.
Now to her sprightly little sister, the Lutine Belle, who also had a
great season last year. The 707 organisation are really trying to build
up the fleet racing which is very exciting as there is always a good
turn for this class on the South coast, with even talk of possible
sponsorship rules being reviewed….. Watch this
space. We are yet again entering the Frostbite and
subsequently the Spring series. If you are interested then

It was really fantastic to see so many members at the end year prize
giving dinner, and hope we can have even more members this year.
