Lutine weekend 12 th - 15 th May 2006 |
| |
A rather bleary eyed crew met at 08.00 hrs on Friday with a view to sailing to Cherbourg and hopefully, the Channel Islands over a long weekend. The crew comprised eight people making up a private charter and included this year's Lutine skipper, Kevin Milligan. |

Yacht Club Members In Centennial Newport To Bermuda Ocean Classic |

RORC Race - to Dieppe - 28th to 29th May |
| |
Lutine started well, mid-fleet and with the Spinnaker up in approximately 20 knots of breeze. Due to the navigating prowess of Graham Spark and Peter Davison, we found ourselves overtaking those yachts who had opted
for a better wind angle over the flooding tide. Averaging speeds of 8.5 knots, Lutine set her course out of the Solent. |

New
Member's Weekend |
| |
On
8-9 April 5 new members of the club were
due to take a trip on Lutine with Lawrence
Nicholls. Unfortunately Lutine was still
completing her winter maintenance programme
and was unavailable. Instead a boat was chartered
from the Hamble and although somewhat smaller
was used as a stand in Lutine. |

Easter
Cruise |
| |
Usually
the Easter Cruise is a trip over the Channel
to the Channel Islands. With a relatively
untested engine this year the cruising
ground was restricted. Nevertheless Lutine
and a party of people organised by Lynne
Atherton had 4 good days sailing to Poole
and back, with the odd stop in between.
Lutine on her first outing of the year
was looking good with new upholstery and
rebuilt engine. |

As
with every great boat, there is the need
to undertake maintenance on an annual basis.
As like previous years, a weekend has been
assigned to carry out some of this maintenance
prior to the boat being launched back into
