Membership Information

Benefits:
IMembers of LLYC are eligible:

  • To participate in club weekends on Lutine
  • To receive notice of and take part in other sailing events organised by the club, including the Lutine Lineslip Regatta, the Annual Keelboat Championships, the Lutine Bell Race and the Finn Trophy.
  • To receive notice of and take part in social events such as the monthly drinks at the Little Ship Club, the Senior Members Lunch and the Annual Dinner Dance.
  • To receive the monthly e-newsletter
  • To fly the defaced red ensign of the Club on their own boats, click here for more information
  • To use the facilities of the Little Ship Club, effectively LLYC's clubhouse in the city, at any time other than Tuesday nights, including the right to have a swipe card for access.
  • To use of the facilities of many other sailing clubs. See Links for a list of the primary affiliated clubs, your membership of LLYC opens the doors to many others , both in the UK and Worldwide.
  • To attend committee meetings and vote at the AGM.
  • To receive discounts off various products. See Links for more details
  • To use the Club burgee on any boat owned by them or chartered to them.
  • To carry the initials LLYC on the stern of their boat indicating their membership of the club.

Fees:
From 1 January 2007 the annual fees (payable on 1 January) are:-

Full Member - £60.00

Full Member over 65 in age - £40.00
Family Member - £30.00
Full Member under 35 in age - First year of membership free then £60.00 pa

A joining fee of £30.00 is payable by all new full members under 65.  The fee is £20.00 for full members over 65, and £15.00 for family members

It is a policy of the club that all members have a current standing order mandate in place. Please ensure that you are paying the correct rate.

Life membership:
Life membership is available at the discretion of the Committee to members of long standing or outstanding contribution to the Club based upon a formula.

Club Structure:
Lutine, the Club’s yacht, is held in the name of a company known as Lutine Yachts Limited (a company limited by guarantee). This company is effectively the operating company for the Club.  As a member of the Club you are automatically a "member" of Lutine Yachts Limited. The approval to restructure the Club was agreed at the AGM in March 2004. For a copy of the note describing the structure click here.
